This has been a hit everywhere I have taken it and has been one of my most asked for recipes. Crispy and definitely NOT low-cal, it is great as a quick fix to take to a bbq or potluck. 1 loaf french bread 1/2 cup softened butter (not margarine) 1/2 cup mayonnaise (sorry, not the fat-free or light here either!) chopped green onions garlic powder grated parmesan cheese (you can use the canned stuff, but honestly, you need to try the 'real' stuff)
Cut the loaf of bread lengthwise into 2 pieces. Blend together the mayonnaise and butter, add garlic powder to taste, and spread mixture on cut sides of bread. Don't skimp here! Sprinkle with green onion and and grated parmesan, press lightly into butter mixture and broil until it just begins to bubble and brown slightly around the edge. Cut in serving size pieces.
