This is a great comfort food dish to make on days where you just don't have a lot of time. My family loves it so much it's rare for me to make pot roast and gravy the "old fashioned way".
4 pound chuck or crossrib roast 1 can Campbell's Golden Mushroom Soup 1 envelope onion soup mix (I like Lipton) 1/2 cup water
You can either place roast directly into crockpot or brown it first in a small amount of oil in a skillet. I am usually in a hurry so I opt to skip the browning. Mix the rest of the ingredients and pour over the roast. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until done. Remove roast, turn crockpot to high to thicken the sauce. Cut 2 tablespoons of butter into 1/4 cup flour as if making a pastry crust. Whisk this into the sauce and cook on high until thickened.
