15 large graham crackers broken into small squares
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter (don't even think about using margarine!)
Single milk chocolate Hershey bars to equal about 10 ounces
1/2 to 1 cup chopped almonds (try salted and unsalted!)
Line a 13x9x2" baking pan with foil. Coat with butter. Arrange crackers in single layer. Break if you have to, to avoid gaps.
Combine sugar and butter in saucepan. Cook and stir over medium high until mixture boils. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and pour over crackers spreading to the edges.
Bake in preheated 400 deg. oven for 5 min.
Let set for 2 minutes then place the chocolate on top. Let set another 3 minutes, or until the chocolate is soft and the base has set a bit then spread. Sprinkle with nuts and chill 30 min. Break into pieces.
Note: you can also use saltine crackers in this recipe with good results! Try 1/2 the pan with saltines and 1/2 with grahams if you want to compare the difference.
